BICOM Therapy is best known for its outstanding success at eliminating allergies and treating allergic
diseases. In 1991, Dr Peter Schumacher, an Austrian paediatrician, published a study on 200 children
showing over 80% success in treating allergic conditions including many cases of eczema and asthma
which orthodox medicine believes to be incurable. Later, the German gastroenterologist Rolf Oesterle
found that using BICOM therapy to treat food allergies, removed the symptoms of Crohn's disease,
another condition regarded as incurable by orthodox medicine.
Today, the technique is almost mainstream in Germany, and the German-speaking countries, Austria and
Switzerland. These three countries account for over 8000 practitioners with three-quarters of these
having orthodox medical training. The wife of the former German President, Dr Veronica Carstens, is a
doctor who recommends BICOM therapy to patients.
In China, BICOM therapy is used exclusively in children's hospitals. In other countries, including
Australia, the technique is seen as a complementary therapy.
